Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has revealed David Beckham wants to remain involved with the French champions.
The former England international announced his retirement from professional football on Thursday after a glittering career that saw him win league titles in four different countries.
He joined PSG in January and won the Ligue 1 title when the club defeated Lyon 1-0.
“I met him (Beckham) yesterday (Thursday),” Al-Khelaifi said.
“He’s very interested to continue being involved in the big project of Paris Saint-Germain. He believes in the club, he believes in the project. He loves the club, he enjoyed the last six months, so we are in discussion now.
“He just yesterday announced that he has decided to retire so we have time to discuss it now. We’re discussing for the next two weeks, we’re hopefully going to announce if we reached an agreement together.
“I hope we will because honestly we want him. I told him, ‘The door is always open for you’ and he wants to be involved, so we’re going to see how he’s going to be involved.”
The former Manchester United midfielder has appeared nine times for PSG in Ligue 1 and started in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first-leg against Barcelona.
