Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is looking to finish the season on a positive note after a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday.

Tony Pulis’ men were undone by goals from Clint Dempsey and Emmanuel Adebayor after Steven N’Zonzi had given them a third-minute lead.

Stoke face Southampton at St Mary’s on Sunday in the knowledge they will once again be playing Premier League football next season.

“It’s disappointing to lose our final home game of the season, of course it is,” Begovic said.

“We can’t let it affect us going into next weekend’s game though. We want to go down there and get the result that would ensure a good end to the season for us.

“It’s been an up and down campaign for sure, but if we can go down to Southampton and get the three points that we are desperate for the

n there is a chance that we could finish in the top half of the table, which would be fantastic for us.”

The Bosnia international has been linked with a host of clubs after an impressive season but underlined his commitment to Stoke.

“All the speculation is flattering and nice, but I am focused on my job here,” he added.

“As long as Stoke want me, I am contracted. I know football is a business and we will see what happens.

“You never know what is around the corner, but as far as I am concerned I am planning to be here.

“I am happy here and I am desperate to help the club push forward. We all want to win trophies and be as successful as we can, that is the main aim.”
