Gent defender Cesar Arzo had an eventful match as his side came from behind to claim a 2-2 Belgian First Division draw at Beerschot on Friday.

Gent headed into the match on the back of a three-match unbeaten run while their opponents had lost their last two.

And Gent capitalised on their impressive form when Mali midfielder Mamoutou N’Diaye netted on the stroke of half-time.

Playing in front of their home fans, Beerschot drew level on the hour-mark thanks to Senegalese attacker Elimane Coulibaly’s strike before they took the lead in dramatic circumstances.

Arzo was the culprit, turning the ball into his own net with six minutes remaining as Beerschot claimed the lead.

Spaniard Arzo atoned for his error in the best possible way, striking a goal in the 89th minute to secure his side a share of the spoils.
