Lokeren maintained the pressure on the Belgian First Division frontrunners with a 2-1 victory over Standard Liege on Friday.

The home side took the lead through Tunisian forward Hamdi Harbaoui in the 42nd minute, before South African midfielder Ayanda Patosi doubled the advantage on 65 minutes.

Jelle van Damme netted a 93rd-minute consolation goal for Liege, who had their three-match winning streak ended.

Lokeren are third on the table following their fifth straight win, one point behind league leaders Zulte-Waregem and second-placed Anderlecht, who both play at the weekend.

Liege are seventh with 22 points, but could fall as a low as 10th depending on other weekend results.

Lokeren play host to Beerschot next week, while Liege travel to take on Zulte-Waregem.
