Benfica agree deal for Polish starlet

Dutch side De Graafschap has moved to confirm that star striker Piotr Parzyszek will be joining Benfica in the summer transfer window.

The talented forward had been followed by Ajax, PSV Eindhoven and Aston Villa, but the Eagles acted quickly and managed to wrap up the deal with his current employers.

As a result, the 20-year-old is expected to fly to Lisbon to undergo medical tests and put pen to paper on a contract until June 2018 that will become effective next summer.

De Graafschap sporting director Roland Vroomans has admitted the deal has been completed, revealing that Parzyszek will be allowed to finish the season in the Netherlands.

“It’s a great transfer for both Piotr and De Graafschap. We are really glad that he will finish the season with us,” Vroomans explained to Voetbal International.

Polish-born forward has spent his entire career up to date at De Graafschap, making a total of 51 league appearances and scoring 29 goals.

He has been especially impressive this season, netting 16 times in 19 Eerste Divisie outings.
