Benfica aiming for double glory

Oscar Cardozo believes Benfica have the quality to win the Liga Sagres and Champions League titles this season.

The Lisbon club went into the Portuguese winter break level on points with reigning champions Porto, but the Paraguay international striker – scorer of eight league goals this campaign – is confident that they can wrestle the title from their arch-rivals.

“Being champions is something that every player always wants,” Cardozo told record.pt. “But they goal is also to bring back the Champions League. We have the team to win the Champions League.”

Benfica have been drawn against Zenit St Petersburg in the last 16 of the Champions League, with the Russian club hosting the first leg on February 15.
