Serie A outfit Sassuolo have moved to suggest that star player Domenico Berardi is unlikely to be leaving in January.
The Italy international is a target for top Italian sides, namely Inter Milan and Napoli, and he was on the verge of joining the Azzurri in the summer.
However, Sassuolo chief Guido Angelozzi claims that Berardi is in love with the Neroverdi and is highly unlikely to leave in January.
“Berardi to Naples in January? The relations between Sassuolo and Napoli are very good, there is mutual respect,” Angelozzi told Radio Crc.
“This summer Berardi was close to Naples, then we decided to hold on to him and he remained, but in January as a philosophy it is difficult to let anybody leave.”
Domenico Berardi has so far made 173 competitive outings for Sassuolo, producing 61 goals and 45 assists.
