The Daily Mirror has suggested that Sir Alex FergusonÂ’s dream of having a potent strike force this season is on the verge of coming true.
Sir Alex has long been an admirer of Dimitar Berbatov, the Bulgarian and Tottenham Hotspur striker and has been keen to bolster his fire power with a player of his calibre.
Sir Alex himself said that he was very close to signing a new striker although, true to his style of keeping his cards close to his chest, he did not name the player.
