Looking to extend on their remarkable run of form, Reims will make the trip to Burgundy on Sunday afternoon when they meet Auxerre.

Starting with the hosts, while Auxeree might have made a shock Ligue 1 return last year, Christophe Pelissier’s men find themselves at the heart of a real top-flight struggle this time around. Last seen eventually getting hit with an action-packed 3-2 loss away at Monaco, the Whites find themselves already sat five points adrift of safety and tipped as one of France’s leading relegation picks in 2023. Only showing a string of glaring issues on either side of the World Cup break, the Burgundy-based outfit have now lost each of their previous seven straight Ligue 1 outings – a run that stems back to November 4th. With their woeful run of form highlighted by a dreadful 5-0 drumming at the hands of Toulouse last month, Auxeree have certainly gained a reputation for their worrying struggles at the back. In fact, shipping 20 strikes on their seven-match losing run, Pelissier’s downbeat squad should face another stern challenge this weekend.

As for the visitors, mounting a stunning comeback on home soil earlier in the week, Reims are in the midst of what has become a remarkable Ligue 1 flurry. Eventually bagging a stellar 4-2 victory against Lorient earlier in the week, the Reds have only continued to shine under new boss William Still. Skyrocketing their way up the top-flight standings and with the mood in their camp at a red-hot high, Sunday’s guests are now unbeaten in each of their last 13 straight Ligue 1 battles. With that eye-catching flurry stemming all the way back to September 18th, there is no doubt that Reims will be smelling a golden chance to lay down another marker here. Gaining plenty of praise from across France on either side of the festive break, Still will be calling on attacking talisman Florian Balogun to spearhead their charge in Burgundy. Including a hat-trick against Lorient in midweek, the Arsenal loanee has now bagged five domestic strikes in just his last three appearances across all formats.

Bet: Reims draw no bet against Auxeree 4/6 for Sunday’s Ligue 1 matchup @ 888sport
