Competition: National League

Market: FC Halifax win

Odds: 6/5 @ 1xBet

In what looks set to be a season-defining affair on Wednesday night, Halifax will welcome Oldham to Yorkshire.

Starting with the hosts, continuing to shine this season, Halifax find themselves sat in the driving seat to punch a famous play-off ticket this season. Last seen over the weekend putting in another professional performance as they secured a 2-0 victory away at Kidderminster, Chris Millington’s men will be desperate to make another National League statement here. Springing a heavyweight upset last month as they secured an action-packed 4-2 victory against Chesterfield, the Yorkshire-based outfit have lost just one of their previous six appearances. Facing what should be a season-defining affair in midweek, Halifax will be excited by their extended success on home soil. Including a 2-1 victory against Boreham Wood on March 9th, Millington’s side have collected 13 points from their last five National League showdowns in front of their own supporters. Suffering just a pair of fifth-tier defeats over the past couple of months, the Shaymen will be smelling a real opportunity here.

As for the visitors, while Oldham might still be dreaming of the chance to punch their own late play-off ticket, the Latics are in the midst of a public rut. Despite being last seen over the weekend snatching a 1-1 stalemate at home against Rochdale, Micky Mellon’s men have failed to muster a single victory from any of their previous eight National League appearances – a rut that stems all the way back to February 27th. Likewise, with just one win to their name from any of their last six outings, the Manchester-based outfit have come crashing back down to earth since opening the New Year. Signing off March with a nightmare 3-1 drumming at home against AFC Fylde, Oldham have also shown some glaring issues on the road. Along with collecting just a single point from their previous three National League contests away from Boundary Park, Wednesday’s guests have also failed to notch an away goal in almost 300 minutes of action.

Bet: FC Halifax 6/5 to beat Oldham in Wednesday’s National League matchup @ 1xBet
