Competition: Ligue 2

Market: Le Havre win

Odds: 3/5 @ Pribet

Knowing that they could clinch an automatic Ligue 1 return on Monday night, Le Havre will welcome a struggling Valenciennes to the Stade Oceane.

Starting with the hosts, while Le Havre might have been disappointed after suffering a shock 1-0 loss away at Annecy last week, it appears that was nothing more than a minor blip for Luka Elsner’s high-flying squad. Continuing to gain a string of plaudits from across France’s second-tier this season, the Normandy-based outfit could secure an automatic Ligue 1 return on Monday night. Remarkably losing just one of their last 24 straight appearances across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to October 29th – Le Havre have also gained a reputation for their continued success on home soil. Last seen at the Stade Oceane claiming a 1-0 victory against Rodez, Elsner’s side have suffered just a single defeat in front of their own supporters this season. Likewise, not shipping a single goal in Normandy in almost 300 minutes of action, the Dean Club are rightfully tipped as a standout pick here.

As for the visitors, missing out on a golden chance last week as they had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home against Pau, Valenciennes find themselves tipped as a leading relegation contender this month. Opening the weekend fixtures sat one point adrift of Ligue 2 safety, the Athenians have claimed just a single second-tier win from any of their last 13 straight appearances. With that extended rut stemming all the way back to February 3rd, Nicolas Rabuel’s side will know that they face a huge challenge when on Monday night. Along with continuing to show some rather glaring defensive struggles, Valenciennes have also gained a reputation for their woeful run on the road. In fact, the Reds have mustered just a sole second-tier away win since the start of October. Likewise, only picking up one win from their last 10 trips to Normandy, we are expecting a fairly routine home victory here.

Bet: Le Havre 3/5 to beat Valenciennes in Monday’s Ligue 2 matchup @ Pribet
