Bitesize Prediction: Livingston vs Ross County – 02/12/23

Competition: Scottish Premiership

Market: Under 2.5 goals

Odds: 2/3 @ BetUS

In what looks like it could be another cagey affair from the Almondvale Stadium on Saturday afternoon, Livingston will welcome Ross County to West Lothian.

Starting with the hosts, while Livingston might have opened up the 2023/24 campaign dreaming of the chance to mount a genuine top-half charge, the Lions find themselves in the midst of a major Premiership crisis. Marking their return from November’s international break with another worrying performance last weekend as they slumped to a 1-0 loss at the hands of St. Mirren, David Martindale’s side sit rock-bottom of the table. Suddenly tipped as a leading relegation contender this season, Livingston have now lost each of their previous six straight appearances – a run that stems back to a 2-0 win against Motherwell on October 7th. Heading into the fortnight interval with a 2-0 defeat against Scottish giants Rangers, Martindale’s squad have also continued to show a string of issues in the final third. In fact, Saturday’s hosts have failed to bag a single strike in their last five Premiership showdowns.

As for the visitors, while Ross County might have clung to their Premiership status last season, the Staggies are enduring another top-flight struggle. Heading into the fortnight interval with a 1-0 loss against St. Johnstone, they have now failed to muster a sole domestic victory from any of their previous 10 straight appearances – a run that stems all the way back to a 1-0 win against Kilmarnock on September 2nd. Likewise, marking their return from November’s international break with an uneventful 0-0 stalemate at home against Kilmarnock, Derek Adams’ side have shown their own extended attacking issues. In fact, the Dingwall-based outfit have failed to notch a single strike in over 270 minutes of top-flight action. It should be noted, with Saturday’s opponents seeing seven of their last eight meetings finish with under 2.5 goals, we are expecting chances to come at a real premium on Saturday afternoon.

Bet: Under 2.5 goals at Livingston vs Ross County 2/3 for Saturday’s Scottish Premiership matchup @ BetUS
