Competition: Ligue 1

Market: Nantes win

Odds: 11/10 @ 888sport

Looking to extend on what has quickly become a stellar purple patch, Nantes will welcome Montpellier to the Stade de la Beaujoire on Sunday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, last seen earlier in the week booking their spot in the final of this year’s Coupe de France thanks to a thrilling penalties victory against Monaco, there is no doubt that the mood in Nantes’ camp is at a red-hot high. Only skyrocketing their way up the Ligue 1 table and now within touching distance of breaking into the European spots, Head Coach Antoine Kombouaré finds his side enjoying a five-match unbeaten run across all formats. Enjoying what has been a remarkable purple patch, Les Canaris also shocked almost everyone across France with a stellar 3-1 win against runaway leaders PSG on February 19th. Likewise, it should be noted, with just a single defeat to their name since the middle of January, Nantes should be smelling the chance to lay down another marker at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

As for the visitors, while Nantes might be enjoying a real purple patch, the same cannot be said for a downbeat Montpellier outfit. Last seen slumping back to losing ways with a deserved 4-2 defeat at home against Rennes, it appears that the pressure is firmly on Olivier Dall’Oglio’s shoulders. Slipping out the top-half of the Ligue 1 standings, Sunday’s guests have now lost four of their last five outings across all formats and will know that they face a stern test here. Likewise, it should also be noted that La Paillade have lost six of their previous eight contests, a run that stems all the way back to January 2nd. Given what has been a huge recent gulf in class between the two sides, we’re backing a home victory at the Stade de la Beaujoire which can be found at attractive odds.

Bet: Nantes 11/10 to beat Montpellier in Sunday’s Ligue 1 matchup @ 888sport
