Looking to extend on their recent flurry, Lazio will travel to the Stadio Ennio Tardini when they meet Parma on Sunday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, while Parma might have stormed their way to a Serie A return for this season, the Crusaders do appear destined for a relegation scrap this time around. Opening up this weekend’s fixtures holding just a two-point buffer from slipping into the relegation zone, Parma have also gained an unwanted reputation for their glaring issues on home soil. Including consecutive 3-2 defeats against Cagliari and Udinese back in September, Sunday’s hosts have collected just a single point from any of their last five top-flight showdowns in front of their own supporters.
As for the visitors, although some in Lazio’s camp might have been left disappointed earlier in the month as they had to settle for a Europa League stalemate against Ludogorets, the Eagles are enjoying a real flurry. Marking their return from November’s international break with a rampant display as they stormed their way to a 3-0 win against Bologna, Marco Baroni’s men are dreaming of the chance to book a Champions League return this season. Continuing to impress on either side of the fortnight break, Lazio have collected 22 points from just their last eight appearances across all competitions. Making another European statement on November 7th as they clinched a 2-1 victory at home against Portuguese heavyweights Porto, Baroni’s side will also be excited by their continued success on the road. In fact, Lazio have won their last three straight showdowns away from the Stadio Olimpico by an aggregate score of 8-1. Likewise, it should also be noted, Sunday’s guests have won five of their previous six matchups on their travels.
