Competition: Coupe de France

Market: PSG win

Odds: 2/5 @ 1xBet

With a Coupe de France final ticket hanging in the balance on Wednesday night, PSG will welcome Rennes to Paris.

Starting with the hosts, while Luis Enrique might have come under plenty of reported pressure this season, PSG are in the midst of a real purple patch. Holding a commanding 12-point buffer at the top of the Ligue 1 table and cruising their way to more domestic history in 2024, the former Barcelona boss will be looking to make another statement here. Marking their return from March’s international break with a 2-0 victory away at historic rivals Marseille, the French giants are unbeaten in all of their previous 25 straight appearances across all competitions – a purple patch that stems all the way back to November 7th. Extending on their Champions League adventure last month and punching a quarter-final ticket thanks to a 4-1 aggregate win against Real Sociedad, PSG have also found a major clinical edfe in the final third. Heading into March’s fortnight interval with a 6-2 romp against Montpellier, PSG have bagged 11 goals in just their previous three outings.

As for the visitors, while Rennes might have opened the New Year with a real flurry, Julien Stephan’s men have come crashing back down to earth. Last seen marking their return from March’s international break with a routine 2-0 loss away at Strasbourg, the Brittany-based outfit have collected just a single victory from any of their previous five showdowns against Ligue 1 opposition. Watching their Europa League adventure come to an end at the hands of Italian heavyweights AC Milan back on February 22nd, Wednesday’s guests have also continued to show some extended issues at the back. Including a shock 2-1 defeat against Lorient last month, Rennes have recorded just a single clean sheet from any of their previous nine matchups across all competitions. Likewise, it should also be highlighted, Stephan’s side have shipped nine goals in their last five showdowns on the road. Despite snatching a 1-1 stalemate when they travelled to Paris back on February 25th, we are backing a home victory here.
