Competition: Ligue 1

Market: PSG win

Odds: 4/7 @ 888sport

Simply hoping to extend their buffer at the top of the Ligue 1 table this weekend, PSG will welcome Rennes to the capital on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, after crashing out of the Coupe de France at the hands of Nice when signing off January, PSG would have simply been glad to have made a thumping return to winning ways last time out. Putting in what was a stellar display away at defending Ligue 1 champions Lille, Mauricio Pochettino’s men picked up a 5-1 romp and the mood in their camp should be at a real high. With last weekend’s trip to the Stade Pierre Mauroy billed as one of the most successful performances of Pochettino’s tenure, Friday’s hosts find themselves cruising towards another domestic crown this season. Les Parisiens hold a commanding 13-point buffer over the chasing pack and it is hard to see anyone stopping them again this time around. Given their superstar attacking line-up, PSG should be looking to lay down another marker here.

As for the visitors, while Rennes might have managed to pick up a welcomed 2-0 win against Brest last weekend, Bruno Génésio’s men find themselves really seeking some stability. Dropping out of the Champions League places and losing four of their last five matchups across all formats, they have also gained a reputation for their worrying issues on the road. In fact, including back-to-back defeats at the hands of Clermont and Lens, Les Rennais have lost each of their last four trips away from Roazhon Park. Knowing that they face a huge task when they travel to the capital on Friday night, Rennes hold a woeful record at Le Parc des Princes. Including a 3-0 drumming the last time they made the trip to the French giants, they have lost six of their last seven away meetings at the runaway leaders.

Bet: PSG 4/7 to beat Rennes in Friday’s Ligue 1 showdown @ 888sport
