Bitesize Prediction: St. Mirren vs Hibernian – 08/11/23

Competition: Scottish Premiership

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 3/10 @ BetUS

Looking to make an immediate return to winning ways on Wednesday night, St. Mirren will welcome a struggling Hibernian to Paisley.

Starting with the hosts, while St. Mirren might have only continued to gain a string of praise from across Scotland since opening up the 2023/24 campaign, Stephen Robinson’s side are seeking some recent stability. Last seen getting hit with a 2-1 loss at the hands of defending champions Celtic, the Saints have now secured just a single win from any of their previous five appearances. With that run stemming all the way back to September 23rd, the Paisley-based outfit will certainly be excited to make a return to home soil here. Last seen at St. Mirren Park storming their way to a routine 4-0 romp against St. Johnstone, Robinson’s men have suffered just a single home defeat so far this season. Opening up Wednesday’s showdown sat third in the standings and potentially looking to secure a famous bronze medal finish, the former Morecambe boss will be smelling the chance to claim an immediate boost in midweek.

As for the visitors, although Motherwell might have signed off September in the midst of an eye-catching flurry, Stuart Kettlewell’s side have come crashing back down to earth. Freefalling down the Premiership standings, the Steelemen have now failed to win any of their previous six appearances across all competitions. With their top-flight issues underlined by a 4-0 drumming at the hands of Rangers last month, the former Ross County boss will have a mounting headache over his side’s rather glaring defensive struggles. Although Motherwell might be set for a stern examination on Wednesday night, they will be boosted by a rather rampant record against St. Mirren. Including an action-packed 4-2 victory when the two sides met on League Cup duties back on September 27th, Kettlewell’s side have won four of their previous five showdowns. Likewise, with those five meetings producing 18 goals, we could be treated to another enjoyable affair here.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at St. Mirren vs Hibernian 3/10 for Wednesday’s Scottish Premiership battle @ BetUS
