AC Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has decided to quit the Ghana national team, the country’s FA has confirmed.
Boateng cited health issues as the reason for the decision, the FA said in a statement.
The 24-year-old claims that the physical demands of playing for both club and country at a high level have taken a toll on his body.
Boateng was a central figure in Ghana’s impressive run to the World Cup quarter-finals last year.
He scored against the USA at the finals in South Africa and gained fame for his sterling performances in the Black Stars’ midfield.
