Boca Juniors centre-back Juan Manuel Insaurralde is set to join Spartak Moscow, according to the Argentine club.

The Argentine giants announced that Spartak had agreed to pay $4 million for 75 percent of the player’s rights, with Boca retaining the other 25 percent.

The experienced defender will travel to Moscow this week and will sign a contract with the Russian Premier League side subject to passing a medical.

Juan Manuel Insaurralde joined Boca from Newell’s Old Boys in the summer of 2010 and quickly developed into a key player for los Xeneize.

The 27-year-old has scored 5 goals in 67 league games for Boca Juniors, while netting one goal in 10 Copa Libertadores matches.

Insaurralde helped Boca win the 2011/2012 Apertura title and missed just one game on the road to Copa Libertadores final, where los Xeneize were beaten by Corinthians.
