Bolton goalkeeper Adam Bogdan has signed a new three-year deal that will keep him at the Reebok Stadium until 2015.

The 25-year-old has been at the club since 2007 when he joined from his local Hungarian side Vasas SC, and spent the first few years in Lancashire as back-up to long-term number one Jussi Jaaskelainen.

However, an injury to the Finland international last season saw Bogdan enjoy an extended run in the Bolton goal and his good form saw him keep his place between the sticks.

Jaaskelainen’s departure to West Ham in the summer left Bogdan as the undisputed first choice for the Trotters and he has also claimed the number one jersey for the Hungary national team.

“I’m delighted with the extension,” he told the club’s official website.

“I think it’s always a good feeling when the club wants to extend.

“I hope it’s a good message for everyone and proves that I see my future here and that I am enjoying playing for the manager. I want to get back to the Premier League as quickly as possible and I see this as a big step.”
