After enduring a very worrying end to the season, a struggling Marseille will welcome Reims to the Orange Vélodrome on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, still in the midst of having to deal with some financial issues behind the scenes, Marseille have already seen the likes of Lucas Ocampos and Mario Balotelli moved on and it appears more big names could be on their way out of the Orange Vélodrome. Coming off the back of a 1-0 loss against Italian outfit Napoli in their final pre-season appearance, former Chelsea and Tottenham boss André Villas-Boas has a real rebuilding process on his hands. Including a 4-0 hammering away at Rangers last month, the former European heavyweights have also continued to struggle with some glaring defensive issues. Marseille have remarkably recorded just a single clean sheet since the start of March.

As for the visitors, while Marseille might find themselves in the midst of a struggle, Reims have continued to catch the eye over the summer. Securing a very impressive 3-1 win over returning Premier League side Sheffield United last weekend, David Guion’s men have won each of their last three appearances and their form on the road will be impressing many around the Stade Auguste-Delaune II. Aside from a dramatic 3-2 loss away at Caen back in May, Reims are unbeaten in their other five matches on the road. They will also be extremely boosted by their most recent outing against Saturday’s hosts. When the two sides met back in February, the European hopefuls secured an impressive 2-1 victory.
