Boulahrouz wants Italy move

Stuttgart defender Khalid Boulahrouz has revealed that Italy is his preferred destination as he searches for a new club.

The 30-year-old defender has less than two months left on his deal at Mercedes-Benz Arena, and he has already decided to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The Dutch international explains that he would like to move to Italian Serie A and reveals that AC Milan could be interested.

“An Italian club would be nice,” Khalid Boulahrouz told Voetbal International.

“I know that Milan officials have watched me from the stands several times this season. But, I cannot estimate how concrete there interest is at the moment.”

The experienced defender is hoping to get his future resolved before the European Championships.

“Soon I will set everything straight with my agent. It would be good if everything is clear before the European Championship.”

Boulahrouz was recently linked with a move to Ajax, but the player reveals he is not interested in returning to Dutch Eredivisie at the moment.

“I have no desire to return to Nethrelands. My preference is to move to Italy or other foreign top championship.”

Boulahrouz joined Sevilla in a €5 million deal from Chelsea in July 2008, but has seen his career at Stuttgart plagued by numerous injuries.

The Dutch defender is, nonetheless, held in high regard by top European clubs and he has made Netherlands provisional Euro 2012 squad.
