St Pauli scored an upset 1-0 win over Hamburg on Wednesday to move further away from the Bundesliga relegation zone.

St Pauli are now five points clear of the drop zone after the win, while Hamburg slip out of the European places.

After a scoreless first half at Imtech Arena, a goal from former Germany international Gerald Asamoah just before the hour mark proved the difference for St Pauli.

The win means the promoted side are now unbeaten in their last five matches and will be confident of remaining in the top flight for next season.
