Bundesliga star drops quit hint

Freiburg striker Papiss Demba Cisse has announced his desire to leave the club amidst interest from a number of Premiership sides.

The Senegalese is considered one of the most prolific strikers in Europe, having registered 22 league goals last season, and he is again seen by the bet in play football experts as one of the favourites for the top goalscorer award after bagging four goals in three league games.

The scintillating performances have seen him attract attention from a host of Premiership clubs, including Blackburn and Sunderland, while Bayern are also keen.

The 26-year-old has now revealed that he is looking to leave Freiburg this summer.

“I want to leave. I am under contract, but I also aspire to play at the highest level,” Cisse told radio station Sudwestrundfunk.

“Nothing has changed and there are still clubs that want me.”

Freiburg are looking to cash in on their prized asset, but their €15 million asking price could prove to be a stumbling block to any future deal.
