Nicolas Burdisso’s recovery from injury is ahead of schedule, according to Roma medical staff.
The Argentina international damaged his knee ligaments earlier in the season and, after an operation, is on the path to a return.
Despite the defender still being more than likely to miss the rest of this campaign, Roma’s doctors are happy with the progress made by the South American centre-back.
“Burdisso’s recovery is going better than the most optimistic of expectations,” specialist Professor Giuliano Cerulli told Il Corriere dello Sport.
“He is a thorough professional, aided by the medical and technical staff who are extraordinarily prepared.”
Roma are sixth in Serie A despite Burdisso’s absence, with Luis Enrique using Gabriel Heinze and Juan at the heart of his defence.
