Sergio Busquets says he is still highly regarded at Barcelona despite the arrival of Alex Song in the close season.
Busquets has found his position as Barca’s first choice holding midfielder under threat since the addition of Song from Arsenal but the Spanish international still believes he is appreciated at Camp Nou.
“I feel valued by my team-mates and coaches,” Busquets told MundoDeportivo.com.
“It is also difficult because I play in a position where you often go unnoticed, a job that is not as flashy as scoring goals, but I’m very happy.
“As always, all the big teams need more than one player per position and Song is a very good player that comes to add (to the team).”
The 24-year-old also played down the spat between Lionel Messi and David Villa in the recent 2-0 win over Granada.
“There was a misunderstanding, these things happen in games and in practice, things that happen to everybody, Leo, David or me, any player. We must try to improve, find the best solution for the team and nothing else.”
Barcelona will try to maintain their 100 per cent start to La Liga when they travel to Sevilla on Saturday.
