Cotonsport recorded their first CAF Champions League victory with a 1-0 win in their rescheduled clash with Sewe.

Midfielder Alexis Yougouda scored the winning goal for Sebastien Desabre’s side just before the hour, the 18-year-old scoring his fifth goal of the campaign.

Cotonsport were made to do it the hard way after Jacques Haman was sent off before half-time, the striker handed a straight red card for kicking out at an opponent while he was on the ground.

The original meeting for the clash in Garoua was postponed due to the Cameroon Football Association’s suspension from FIFA, however, with them now reinstated the 2012 Premier League runners-up were able to get their first victory in this year’s competition.

The win leaves all teams in Group A on three points after their opening two matches, with Ivory Coast 2012 champions Sewe top of the group on goals scored despite their loss.
