Sam Allardyce has confirmed West Ham expect a decision on Liverpool striker Andy Carroll’s future by the end of next week.
Carroll spent last season on loan at Upton Park and is not thought to be in Brendan Rodgers’ plans, meaning he is expected to leave Liverpool before the start of the 2013-14 campaign.
Carroll has yet to make a decision on whether or not to make the switch but with both him and Allardyce currently on holiday, the West Ham manager has insisted the 24-year-old should provide a definitive answer in the next seven days.
“We are both out of the country but most of the negotiations are done and the financial agreement between us and Liverpool is in place,” Allardyce told the Sunday People.
“It’s about communicating with Andy and his agent between in London, here in Spain where I am and Florida where Andy is.
“I’ve no real need to speak to him over his decision. I’ve spoken to him enough times so he knows what I think and it’s up to him.
“He’s back in the next few days so we should have a definitive answer by the end of next week.”
