Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas says the La Liga champions are aiming to win when they visit Barcelona in the Supercopa first leg.
Real were beaten 5-4 on aggregate in last year’s competition, and Casillas is determined to come out victorious this time around.
The first leg takes place at Barca’s Camp Nou home on Thursday.
“We will now turn our attention to the Spanish Supercopa. Like last year, we meet Barcelona once more,” Casillas said following his team’s 1-1 draw at home to Valencia in their La Liga opener on Sunday.
“It will be a beautiful, exciting match, in which two teams that play attacking football and try to create goals go head to head. We are going there with the idea of winning.”
Casillas looked back at his side’s draw against Valencia and said he felt they deserved to take all three points at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
“We deserved much more because of all the chances we created,” he said.
“We got into the box a lot and had a lot of chances to score in the second half.”
