Celta Vigo 11/10 to beat Athletic Bilbao in Sunday’s La Liga game

Competition: La Liga

Market: Celta Vigo to beat Athletic Bilbao

Odds: 11/10 @ Bet365

Spain’s top league continues on Sunday as teams jostle for position in the buildup to the international break. The league’s top three sides all claimed victories on Saturday, while there has been movement amongst the bottom teams in recent weeks with the likes of Malaga and Alaves claiming victories in their last games. With this in mind, struggling sides Celta Vigo and Athletic Bilbao meet on Sunday, with both clubs knowing the importance of a win.

Celta Vigo have been very poor this season and, with each passing week, look more likely to be involved in a relegation battle. Celta have been beaten in their last two games, and they have won just three times this season which, along with two draws, has given them 11 points from their 10 games. Considering they seemed so assured last year and made it to the latter stages of the Europa League, their struggles are very surprising.

For Atheltic Bilbao, it has been a similarly poor start to the season. 10 games, three wins, two draws and five defeats means they have an almost identical record to Celta, but the visitors are a place below Celta because of their goal difference. With the relegation zone just five points behind them, neither team will want to lose this game, while a victory would enable them to climb as high as ninth if results go their way. Due to their home advantage, we are backing Celta in this one, and Bet365 are giving them odds of 11/10 to win this one.
