Blackburn Rovers’ unbeaten start to the season came to an abrupt end as they were beaten 2-1 by Middlesbrough.
A goal in each half from Lukas Jutkiewicz gave the visitors a deserved 2-0 lead and, despite Grant Hanley’s late header, Rovers were unable to claw it back.
Jutkiewicz, in his second season at Middlesbrough, equalled his tally of last season when he struck in the seventh and 61st minutes.
The visitors dominated the midfield battle throughout, while Marvin Emnes gave Rovers’ defence trouble throughout.
A loud chorus of jeers and ‘Kean out’ chants met the final whistle as the pressure continues to mount on the Rovers boss.
