Cardiff romped home with a 4-1 win at Blackburn on Friday to steer four points clear on top of the Championship.

Rovers’ Joshua King cancelled out Mark Hudson’s opener, in the second half, but City dominated from there and put the result beyond doubt with goals from Craig Bellamy, Joe Mason and Kim Bo-Kyung.

Bellamy had struck the post against his former side during a woeful opening 45 minutes for Blackburn that gave little hope of a first home win under new manager Henning Berg.

The defeat was Berg’s fourth in charge from eight games and leaves Blackburn in 10th place, 15 points behind the leaders and four shy of the play-off places.

Hudson headed Cardiff into the lead on 30 minutes from Craig Noone’s cross but impressive Manchester United loanee King squared it shortly after half-time as he slotted under on-rushing keeper David Marshall.

Bellamy cleverly exchanged headers with Heidar Helguson before smashing home to put Cardiff back ahead 2-1.

Substitutes Mason and Bo-Kyung completed the home side’s misery with strikes in the final 10 minutes.

The result leaves Blackburn still looking for a home win under new manager, while Cardiff are sitting pretty on top with 44 points.
