Chelsea agree deal to sign Edin Dzeko

Premier League holders Chelsea are set to complete the signing of Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko from AS Roma, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The two clubs have reached an agreement over a transfer fee, while the former Man City forward will sign a long-term deal worth €8 million per campaign.

The transfer will only be completed after tonight’s game between Sampdoria and AS Roma, where the Giallorossi are 21/20 to emerge victorious.

Antonio Conte was looking to add another quality striker to the rotation this winter and after missing out on several targets, he decided to make a move on Dzeko.

This means that Alvaro Morata’s starting berth could also be under threat as the Bosnian has impressed at AS Roma, bagging 46 goals in 88 Serie A outings.
