Chelsea have announced their Premier League clash with Fulham on Boxing Day will take place as scheduled, despite transport strike threats.

After careful consideration, the Blues have decided to give their Boxing Day game the go ahead, despite concerns that fans would find it difficult to reach Stamford Bridge because of the tube strike set to take place on Monday.

Eight games within the Premier League and Football League are scheduled for Monday in the English capital, including Arsenal’s clash against Wolverhampton, with the strikes set to disrupt travel for supporters.

The Blues have examined the implications presented by the planned strike and have consulted with the local council, Metropolitan Police and transport authorities.

Chelsea are confident that they can provide a safe environment for both sets of fans during the west London derby and have advised supporters to allow plenty of time for their journey and to monitor transport websites.
