Chelsea lead chase for Khedira

Daily Star is reporting that Chelsea have emerged as strong favourites to sign German midfielder Sami Khedira from Real Madrid.

The Germany international recently complained about the poor treatment from the Spanish press and it appears that he is looking for a way out of Santiago Bernabeu.

And while Manchester United and Arsenal remain keen on the 26-year-old, Daily Star has suggested that Chelsea have moved to pole position.

Jose Mourinho reportedly wants Khedira at Stamford Bridge and the German would relish the opportunity to get reunited with the Portuguese coach.

Real Madrid are unlikely to stay in the player’s way should he decide to leave the club, but chances are he won’t be sold on the cheap.

Sami Khedira has featured in 8 La Liga fixtures this term, but his starting berth is in danger now that Xabi Alonso is set to return into action.

Real Madrid go into the El Clasico match buoyed by the 2-1 triumph over Juventus and they are 10/3 to win at Camp Nou.
