Chinese Super League wrap: No stopping Guangzhou

Runaway leaders Guangzhou were 2-0 winners at Shanghai Shenhua while rivals Beijing Guoan lost in the Chinese Super League on Wednesday.

Guangzhou entered the match at the Hongkou Stadium on a 22-match unbeaten streak in the league and they quickly took the lead in Shanghai, with Argentine Dario Conca netting his fourth goal in six matches.

Wu Pingfeng sealed the result with his goal 12 minutes into the second half as Guangzhou moved 12 points clear at the top of the league.

Beijing Guoan, who sit second, lost further ground on the leaders after their 2-1 loss to Changchun Yatai, although they snared the lead after just nine minutes.

Ladji Keita scored the opener, but Wang Dong quickly responded before Nei’s second-half strike ensured Changchun won at home.

In other matches, a Leandro Netto double saw Henan Jianye topple Liaoning Hongyoun 2-1 while Tianjin Teda scored three times in the last 25 minutes to beat Nanchang Bayi 3-0, with Chen Tao bagging a brace.

Sun Ke and Aleksandar Jevtic both scored within four first-half minutes as Jiangsu Shuntian cruised to a 2-0 win against Hangzhou Lucheng and Qingdao Jonoon won 1-0 at Shandong Luneng.

Two goals in the last five minutes saw Dalian Shide win 3-1 at Shaanxi Chanba, while Shenzhen Ruby claimed a late 2-2 draw against bottom-side Chengdu Blades.
