Cody Gakpo could leave Liverpool

Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo could leave Anfield in the summer transfer window, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg. Bayern Munich are interested in the Netherlands international, who are one of three clubs that the 26-year-old would consider leaving him.

Plettenberg reported on X: “Regardless of FC Bayern’s interest, a summer departure for Cody #Gakpo is possible if the right offer comes in. Several enquiries have already been made.

“Gakpo has been informed about Bayern’s interest – Max Eberl is maintaining contact. Nothing more at this stage. Bayern are one of only three clubs he would consider leaving Liverpool for. #LFC 

“However, Bayern continue to assess multiple profiles. 21G/8A.”

Gakpo has been on the books of Liverpool since the summer of 2023 when he joined from Eredivisie outfit PSV. The Dutch star has scored 41 goals and given 17 assists in 128 appearances for the Merseyside club so far in his career.
