Coentrao resumes training

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has been handed a timely boost ahead of Sunday’s trip to Levante after Fabio Coentrao made a return to training.

The defender picked up a groin injury while away on international duty with Portugal last month, and has been out of action since.

But the 24-year-old is now a step closer to making his comeback after resuming training, putting an end to a four-week spell on the sidelines.

Coentrao’s imminent return to full match fitness will be a big boost for Mourinho, with fellow left-back Marcelo still unavailable due to injury.

Real have missed the attacking ability of the duo, particularly against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League as they fought back for a 2-2 draw on Tuesday.
