Pumas Unam eased into the CONCACAF Champions League semi-finals after crushing Isidro Metapan 8-0 in their second leg on Thursday.
The Mexican Clausura champions suffered a 2-1 loss in the first leg in El Salvador, but responded with a thumping win at Estadio Olimpico de Universitario.
Forward Eduardo Herrera netted a brace for the victors, who will face fellow Mexican outfit Monterrey in the last four.
The tie turned in the favour of Pumas Unam in a two-minute period in the first half.
Defender Alexander Escobar netted an own goal in the 25th minute, before Herrera scored to make it 2-0 to the hosts.
Along with Herrera’s second, Efrain Velarde, Martin Bravo, Jose Antonio Garcia, Fernando Espinoza and Juan Carlos Cacho all got on the scoresheet in the romp.
