Juventus manager Antonio Conte has warned his side not to get complacent in their pursuit of a third consecutive Serie A crown.

The Turin club have won the past two league titles but have endured a mixed pre-season, failing to register a win in the International Champions Cup.

While Conte is not overly concerned about their performance in the pre-season tournament, he wants his side to focus ahead of the coming season.

“We must be very careful not to fall into the trap of those who tell us that we have already won the championship,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Players, fans and I must never forget that it will be a difficult year.

“And speaking of fans, I urge them since now to be even closer to the team. For many reasons, the problems will be enormous.”

Conte saw his side finish the competition in last place, losing 9-8 on penalties to Inter after the scores were level at 1-1 in normal time.

However, the former Juventus midfielder was pleased with the efforts of his side and the displays of Mirko Vucinic and Carlos Tevez.

“With Inter I saw commitment and good will,” he added. “Vucinic and Tevez? They struggled early, then they have created important things.”
