Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot apparently need to take decisive steps towards Barcelona, if they are to join the Catalan giants in the summer.
As reported by Marca, Barcelona have already placed their offer on the table when it comes to Rabiot. The Frenchman’s future should be the easier to sort as his contract with the Ligue 1 title holders expires after the season ends, and it was believed it would be done quickly at the turn of the year when he legally got permission to talk to other clubs. However, Rabiot has changed his agent since and the deal hasn’t been agreed yet. For their part, Barcelona believe they have done enough and they have no intention of raising their offer.
On the other hand, the case of de Ligt is slightly different. The young centre-back remains bound to Ajax by his contract set to run for further two years, which means he’s under no pressure to make a quick decision. However, the same applies for Barcelona, who believe that in Frenkie de Jong and Jean-Clair Todibo they have enough options to deal with the possibility of Rabiot and de Ligt transfers falling through.
