Stoke City’s appeal against the red card handed to Rory Delap in their 2-0 FA win against Crawley Town has been successful.
The FA announced the three-game punishment initially handed to the midfielder for his first-half challenge has been scrapped, freeing him up to play against Swansea in the Premier League at the weekend.
Delap was sent off after just 17 minutes for a challenge deemed reckless by referee Mike Jones, causing Stoke boss Tony Pulis to criticise the decision.
Pulis’ side face a tricky quarter-final trip to face Liverpool in the FA Cup following their win against the League Two outfit.
Stoke currently sit in 13th spot in the Premier League, and travel to Valencia on Thursday to attempt to overcome a 1-0 first-leg loss in the Europa League round of 32.
