Diego reveals Arsenal interest

Wolfsburg midfielder Diego Ribas da Cunha has revealed that Arsenal and Southampton have been showing interest in his services.

The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a return to former club Atletico Madrid, but it appears he could rather end up in English Premier League.

Diego has confessed to interest from Arsenal and Southampton, admitting both clubs are quite appealing to him.

“I know there is interest from Premier League clubs. I have heard Arsenal is one of them,” Diego told The Sun.

“It would be the ideal destination for me because their style suits my characteristics perfectly. Of course I would say ‘yes’ to Arsenal.

“Southampton have great organisation and discipline and big talents like Adam Lallana. But again there is nothing concrete.”

Diego left Santos for FC Porto in 2004 and quickly developed into one of world’s top playmakers.

It was at Werder Bremen that he enjoyed the best years of his career, scoring a total of 38 goals in 84 Bundesliga matches before signing for Juventus.

He has been at Wolfsburg since 2010, albeit enjoying a very successful loan spell with Atletico Madrid during the 2011/2012 season.

Diego is again heavily linked with a big club move and chances are he will be leaving the Wolves for greener pastures as early as January.
