Crystal Palace attacker Stephen Dobbie feels the club’s home form will be vital in their attempts to remain in the Premier League.

The 30-year-old – who officially joined Palace in the close-season after impressing on loan at the club last term – says it is time for the club to move on from their play-off final success in the Championship.

And the Scot, who is excited to get going in the Premier League, feels Palace’s survival hopes will depend on their performances at Selhurst Park.

“You have to get on with the mission of staying in the Premier League,” Dobbie told The South London Press.

“You go away on holiday but it gets to a point where you’re just ready to go back to work. I just want to get started now. As soon as you see the first fixture, Tottenham at home, you get a little charge to be ready for that game.

“Obviously it’s going to be a hard season. It’s going to be so important when teams come to Selhurst Park because that is where you’ve got to look at most of your points coming from.

“But we’re not frightened – it is more excitement.”

Crystal Palace have been relegated in their last five top-flight campaigns.
