Legia Warsaw’s bid for a ninth Polish Ekstraklasa title moved a step closer with a 2-0 win over Zaglebie Lubin.

The league leaders, buoyed by the fact that victory would give them a four-point advantage at the summit, started strongly and had chances to take the lead early on.

But both Miroslav Radovic and Danijel Ljuboja were unfortunate to see their efforts rebound off the Zaglebie post.

Radovic was not to be denied again however, as he headed home Jakub Wawrzyniak’s cross on the stroke of half-time to put Legia infront.

And the hosts doubled their advantage just before the hour mark, Vladimer Dvalishvili latching onto Radovic’s quickly taken free-kick before slotting past Michal Gliwa.

That’s how it stayed as Legia extend their lead at the top, moving one step closer to a first title since 2006.
