Hamburger SV winger Eljero Elia has made a sensational entrance to the Bundesliga.

The Dutch international is one of the reasons behind HSV`s smooth start of the season.

`It`s all going very fast for me. It feels like I became a mature player in a short time,` Elia told Dutch magazine Voetbal International.

The 22-year-old surprised himself by adapting the German way of life so soon after his transfer, this summer.

`I expected it to last longer. After all, this is another country, another surrounding with different people.

`Besides that, the level of the Bundesliga is way higher than the Dutch Eredivisie. It requires a lot of strength, but I feel I`ve became a stronger person. If you`re open for it, adapting a new style isn`t that hard,` Elia added.

After eight matches, his club Hamburger SV is at the top spot of the Bundesliga. But that doesn`t mean HSV is the top favourite for the title, according to its newest star.

`It`s too early for that. We are one of the contenders for the top positions in the Bundesliga.

`I think Bayer Leverkusen has a very strong squad, especially their attack. But there are many top teams in Germany. You can`t pick a top favourite for the title.`
