Brentford will try to atone for their final-day heartbreak when they face Swindon in the first leg of their League One play-off semi-final.

Uwe Rosler’s side suffered agony when Marcello Trotta missed a late penalty in their home game with Doncaster, and that miss was compounded as James Coppinger scored on the counter to seal the visitors’ place in the Championship and condemn the Griffin Park outfit to third spot.

On Saturday they travel to the Country Ground to face a Swindon side that finished as the joint-highest scorers in the division.
Leading striker James Collins has been the driving force at the head of a potent attack, but the hosts go into this one on the back of a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Scunthorpe on the final day.
Rosler’s side secured a league double over Kevin MacDonald’s men in the regular season, experienced forward and top marksman Clayton Donaldson finding the net in both games.
However, the London club will be under severe pressure following their dramatic defeat last weekend and should be wary of allowing that failure to affect their performance in what looks set to be a difficult tie.
In the division’s other semi-final Sheffield United welcome Yeovil to Bramall Lane on Friday.
The two sides have enjoyed contrasting seasons.
United dismissed former manager Danny Wilson after their early promotion charge fell away and the hosts head into this one following a run of four games without a win.
Meanwhile Yeovil have won four of their last six and have somewhat overachieved under manager Gary Johnson, who is enjoying his second spell in charge.
Paddy Madden is the key man for Johnson’s side, the Irish forward has scored 22 goals this term and will be looking to add to that tally and put Yeovil within touching distance of the Wembley final.
These sides traded away victories in their two meetings so far this season, Yeovil earning a 2-0 win at Bramall Lane while United edged to a 1-0 triumph at Huish Park.
