His first win as Roma manager may have eased the pressure, but Roma coach Luis Enrique was little more than ‘satisfied’ after beating Parma.
A second-half Pablo Osvaldo header proved the difference between the two teams on Sunday, allowing Roma to claim their first Serie A victory this season.
“I am satisfied with the victory against a tough team who caused us many problems towards the end of the match,” Enrique – who took over from Vincenzo Montella after the 2010/11 campaign – told Sky Sport Italia.
“I am happy with the result and our performance. There is no doubt we could have played better and suffered less, but the players were a bit afraid of losing the match in the last moments.”
Roma now sit 11th in Serie A on five points, and Enrique stressed he wanted to see his side continue on the path of success in the clash against Atalanta on Saturday.
“Atalanta are a very tough squad, they have not yet lost and would be at the top of the table if it were not for the six-point penalty,” the Spaniard said.
“But we want a home victory in front of our own fans, who deserve it because they are always very supportive.”
