Bayern Munich’s Franck Ribery is dreaming of reaching this year’s Champions League final at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern impressed in the first round of the tournament, topping Group A ahead of Manchester City, Napoli and Villarreal.

Former Olympique de Marseille forward Ribery is hopeful the German heavyweights can go all the way to a final in front of their own fans.

“Reaching the Champions League is one of my biggest targets, and it would also be a dream come true,” Ribery told the club’s official website.

“I hope we can do it, but it’s incredibly difficult. As a first step, we have to win our next fixture against Basel, and then let’s see what happens.”

The France international also discussed his side’s chances of winning the Bundesliga title, stressing it will not be easy to dislodge champions Borussia Dortmund.

“Four teams are in it at the moment,” he said.

“I think it’ll remain very tough. We have to focus on ourselves and win as many games as possible. I think our toughest rivals are Dortmund and Schalke.”

Bayern sit first in the German top flight on goal difference, and are preparing for Saturday’s trip to face against Hamburg at the Volksparkstadion.
