It may have gone below the radar, with the quarterfinal stage of the Champions League coming to a close this week, but Newcastle made a huge step towards qualifying for the competition with a 5-0 annihilation of Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
With Jacob Murphy, Harvey Barnes and Fabian Schar already on the scoresheet, along with an own-goal from Newcastle-linked Palace defender Marc Guehi, in-demand striker Alexander Isak latched onto a great interception from Joelinton to blast the Magpies’ fifth into the net from outside the box.
